Museo a cielo aperto – Percorso tra statue e misteri della pietra di Verezzi
Il vecchio Parco dell’Acquedotto era una sorta di terreno di frontiera per i ragazzi del paese. Sormontato dalla “torre cisterna” tra rocce, pini secolari e praticelli nascosti, era il posto ideale per incontri e giochi avventurosi.
Da qualche mese, grazie all’amico e artista Mario Nebiolo, il Parco sta riprendendo vita, popolandosi di figure misteriose, generate forse da ricordi o dai sogni: ci sono le statue in pietra di Verezzi, estratta dalla cava ancora ben evidente se guardiamo la parte alta della collina, a lato della frazione Poggio, e ceramiche e mosaici che ci riportano al tema del mare. Ogni figura in se stessa, e tutte nel loro insieme, evocano qualcosa nell’animo del visitatore… qualcosa di profondo e nascosto, che nasce nel momento in cui varca la soglia del parco, e diventa lui stesso creatore di immagini e interprete di ciò che vede, attraverso le proprie emozioni e il suo personale vissuto. Un po’ come se intuisse immagini e evocasse ricordi osservando le forme mutevoli delle nuvole nel cielo.
Tutto poi è in continuo divenire nel Parco: nel corso dei mesi, nuove figure continuano ad apparire nella radura e sui sedili in pietra, secondo un percorso mentale ed artistico che l’autore, di volta in volta, sviluppa.
Così incontriamo la dea del mare con il suo strascico di pesci e cozze luccicanti che la collega con un mistico pescatore, o la vendemmiatrice meditabonda, la madre, il gruppo della “solitudine originale”, il gruppo dei cavatori, il naufrago, la barca dei pescatori, le “bàsure”, la generatrice di sogni… e altre figure che pian piano occupano spazi talvolta nascosti nella vegetazione: il visitatore può scoprirle cercando con attenzione. Sculture, mosaici e alcune ceramiche sono di Mario Nebiolo. Altre ceramiche, piatti e piastrelle sono invece di Angela Ferrero. I disegni sulla vasca dell’acquedotto sono di Omar Hassan.

Park of the Aqueduct: Open Air Museum – A trip through statues and the mistery of the Verezzi stone
The old Park of the Aqueduct was a sort of frontier land for the young people. Surmounted by the cistern tower, among the rocks, the secular pines and hidden small meadows, it was the ideal place for adventurous meetings and games. For a few months, thanks to the friend and artist Mario Nebiolo, the Park is coming back to life, populating itself with mysterious figures, perhaps generated by memories or dreams…: here you can find the Verezzi stone statues, made by the stone extracted from the quarry still clearly evident if we look at the top of the hill, near the Poggio Hamlet, and ceramics and mosaics that bring us back to the theme of the sea. Each figure in itself, and all as a whole, evoke something in the visitor’s soul… something deep and hidden, which is born the moment he crosses the threshold of the Park, and he himself becomes a creator of images and interpreter of what he sees… through his emotions and his personal experience. A bit as if he sensed images and evoked memories by observing the changing shapes of the clouds in the sky. Then everything is constantly changing in the Park: over the months, new figures continue to appear in the clearing and on the stone seats, according to a mental and artistic path that the author, from time to time, develops. Thus we meet the goddess of the sea with her train of glittering fish and mussels that connects her with a mystical fisherman, or the brooding grape harvester, the mother, the group of “original solitude”, the group of quarrymen, the castaway, the fishermen’s boat, the “bàsure” (witches), the generator of dreams… and other figures that slowly occupy spaces sometimes hidden in the vegetation: the visitor can discover them by looking carefully.
